Long before its founding Williamsport was host to countless visitors from American Indian travelers, to fur traders, to settlers passing through. With its location along the river and the eventual opening of the canal and railroad, the Town's history was built on welcoming travelers and guests. Music, dance, sports, recreation and fun are our tradition. Take in one of our many events, enjoy one of our dances, and stop in to listen to one of our concerts. Whatever you do, you will soon discover that Williamsport is historic fun!

Six years ago, the Desert Rose Café first opened their doors as a lovely café serving sandwiches, coffees and other yummy treats. Since then, the Café has become a cornerstone in the Main Square of the Town of Williamsport. The owner Rose and her staff are beloved by all, and we are excited to announce she is opening up a second shop right across the street from her current café. The Desert Rose Sweet Shoppe will be opening where the old Williamsport Creamery used to be at 2 E Potomac Street, Williamsport, MD 21795. They will be selling Antietam Dairy Ice Cream, baked goods and candies.

The Grand Opening is this Friday, April 11th, 2014. The shop opens at 3:00pm and there will be a special Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at 6:00pm. To celebrate their opening weekend, Friday, April 11th-Sunday, April 13th, the Desert Rose Sweet Shoppe will be offering a single scoop ice cream, small sno-cone or small soft serve for $1.00. The weekend hours will be from 3:00-9:00pm. Stop by this weekend to welcome them on their new venture and get some ice cream, candies, and sweet treats!
