Historic cemetery and Civil War breastwork built under the direction of Union Army captain Abner Doubleday.

 

 

 

            

 

 

 

 

 

 


Riverview Cemetery

General Abner Doubleday set up a battery of artillery at this site which overlooks the Potomac River and the Conococheague Creek during the Civil War. The site is located in Riverview Cemetery which is the place of burial of many family members of the original residents of the Town.
